Respectable

Respectable6 x 30 for Paramount / Five

A sitcom about a group of ‘respectable’ young women working together; squabbling, chatting and bonding. There’s just one difference: they work in a brothel. Brothels are there, hidden away in every town in, in every country: cosy, suburban, domestic, even a bit twee. The Debonnaire, is run by Maureen, a chain-smoking, extremely skilled granny who’s seen it all.

RespectableHer girls are Hayley (an innocent wannabe), Kate (brainy post graduate student paying her college fees) and the scary Yelena (a Serbian war criminal on the run). Into this world enters shy, clumsy Michael Price.

His marriage has slowed down to the point where he and his wife are two strangers living in the same house.

RespectableThen one day, he stumbles into the Debonnaire and falls head-over-heels for the beautiful Hayley – but unlike the various misfits and saddos who make up the regular clientele, he’s far too polite to actually ask her for sex.

In this house full of sex toys and negligees, the love story develops: will Michael tell Hayley how he feels? Will his wife discover his chaste affair? And will Hayley leave her job for the man who wants to look after her?
