“If Walls Could Talk….” is a racy exploration of how we’ve used the rooms in our houses over the centuries, presented by historian Dr. Lucy Worsley, the chief curator for The Historic Royal Palaces. The series tells the story of British domestic life from the middle ages to the present day through four rooms – the kitchen, the bed room, the bathroom and the sitting room – and will explore the way that our attitudes and habits have changed in relation to family, privacy, cleanliness, class and technology, amongst other things. Covering domestic topics such as oil lamps v candles, chair design, masturbation, wigs and cooking utensil, Worsley is like a larky tour guide, whirling us round the seedier corridors of the royal palaces.
