BBC2 is to broadcast a new series by Silver River on making the most of second-hand and antique furniture, with tie-in from Octopus brand Miller’s.

Cracking Antiques will be published in the spring as a £20 hardback to tie in with the broadcast of the show, which will cover what to look for when buying antiques, how to revamp old furniture, and tips for buying at fairs, shops, auctions and online.

The six 30-minute episode series, “Cracking Antiques” is made by Silver River, the company behind “Grow Your Own Drugs”.

Presenters Mark Hill, a former specialist at Bonhams and Sotheby’s and “Antiques Roadshow” expert, and interior designer Kathryn Rayward, will write the book.
